Sure there is. Offer an option in the ticket machine for JFK. Take the cost of a NYP-JAM ticket, plus the cost of an Airtrain swipe, and then throw an extra $3 on top of it.

That's what NJT does if you buy a NYP-EWR ticket, vs if you bought a NYP-Elizabeth ticket and then bought an Airtrain swipe separately.
