"Employee cards cannot swipe again for 6 minutes."The whole MetroCard system is set up in 6-minute intervals; we discovered this, the hard way, when we were doing incident investigations in System Safety. For example, an employee's pass showed him boarding his usual bus at 10:06 p.m. each night. Did that bus arrive punctually every night at 10:06 p.m.? Unlikely. Answer was, it turned out, that he boarded sometime between 10:06 and 10:11:59 p.m. Or at least that was the case 10-years ago or so; if they have refined the system, more power to them. |
