And I wonder if Atlanta had built their system 20 years later would they have opted for a primarily light rail system? Given Atlanta's low population density I think that they would have. But then I wonder if they wouldn't have ended up with a system that was twice as large yet had fewer riders? Heavy rail seems like the better long term investment. |
