That is very true. I remember when the idea was floated around to merge MNR with LIRR into the "MTA Railroad" or something like that, one of the first issues to surface from the Long Island folks was the loss of their identity & name that they've come to both love & hate at the same time for some 150 or so years.Have to agree with that. It will always be the Long Island Railroad. Period. |
