If by 'mild autism' you mean that you like to devote time and effort to the things you care about, then thats human.

As a little anecdote, my partne likes art, so one day I took her to Dulwich Picture Gallery, which in terms of the art 'experience' seems to be one of the best galleries in the world because of the complete lack of security, railings, ropes, or anything.

To cut a long story short, this was heaven for her, apparently, being able to get really close to a Canaletto and touch it (she didn't, but relished the opportunity) was a moving experience.

As for me? Art? Well its nice pictures that you hang on the wall. But if the gallery had been full of original sketches of metro maps of the world, with some Beck originals thrown in, our roles would have been reversed. In the 'politics' of the world in which we live, she would be 'educated' and 'sensitive' whereas I would have a mild 'psychological defect'.
