A way to indicate what you want would be a new style of electronic side sign. A Large LCD TV-style Sign with multiple lines of information. The color bullet or diamond would be displayed in the upper left. The originating station next to it in a smaller font. The destination would be in the center. The lines traveled would be at the bottom. The Manhattan trunk line (which generates the route bullet color) would also be back lit with the color.Here's what it would look like, textually. (J) Broad St. to Jamaica Center Parsons/Archer via Nassau St. Lcl Bkln Bwy Exp Jamaica Skip/Stop Archer Lcl As the train travels its route, the "used up" lines would disappear. Nassau St between Essex and Marcy; Broadway between Broadway Junction and Alabama; Jamaica between 121st and Sutphin. In the reverse it would look like this.
