All liquid containers must be covered.The problem in the NY Subway is that food and drink is sold inside the stations. People won't buy it if they can't consume it. I only buy soda or water at those vendors if I need something to drink at the moment and can consume it immediately. I would never buy something there with the intention of bringing it home - if that is the case I would just go to one of the many news-stands or delis after getting off the train - they are cheaper! So if the MTA banned eating and drinking those vendors may no longer have the business that makes it worthwhile to bid for those "shops". |
