Quite a number of Post WW2 cars had short carreers- not only the R21/22, 27/30, but look at Dave's site- many R12s were already in work service by the late 1960s, when they were only 20-something years old.And of course, there's the Pre-WW2 Multi-Sections- 24 years (1937-1961). The R32s in fact aren't even gone quite yet...their total service will have been one of the longer ones in subway/elevated history. Only the Standards will have lasted longer, and also,, arguably, the BUs that became Qs... |
