I did a Amtrak Round-Robin alone in 2006: the Lake Shore Ltd then the SW Chief to LA . I stayed over night in LA in a nice hotel 4 blocks from Union Station. Next day the took the Coast Starlight to Seattle.. stayed there 3 nights.. then took the Empire Builder back to Chicago and the lake shore Home.. great trip.. The Builder was 1 minute EARLY into Union station. |
