The R40 is the train in my earliest childhood memory of riding the subway and it was on the (F)in Brooklyn. The design was very unique, it had a distinct "only in New York" look. True the seats were six degrees of torture for your back and ass but those trains had an amazing braking system and could slow down and pick up speed like no other. My longest association with them was on the Canarsie and Brighton lines. They handled the Canarsie line really well!
