I don't think the combination of comprehensive, legible, and to scale has ever been accomplished before.Exactly the reason I did it. I think the way yards are represented with the line bullets is misleading; e.g., it looks like the Rockaway Park Shuttle goes to Euclid Avenue by looking at the map. I disagree. You can easily see the the shuttle does not operate to Euclid, just by looking at the map. Also, rush-hour A service to Rockaway Park is described only in the legend and not on the map, but rush hour 2/4/5 service to New Lots is on the map and not on the legend. That's because the New Lots situation is a bit more random than Rockaway Park. The same situation holds with the E to Jamaica-179. I think a single blob for station complexes would work better than individual blobs connected by lines, but that's personal preference. Problems would arise when connectiong to a local station to an express. That's one of the reasons I split the (7) and the <7> into two lines. Thanks for the comments. |
