The Montrose tunnel was the way they loaded the Standards into the piece of the Canarsie Line that was built. There were no shop connections yet or any other connection to the line. The BRT towed the subway cars on streetcar tracks to a ramp they built to get into the subway tunnels. If you look up heading into Montrose city bound, the ceiling is still alot higher and before the RFW was fuzzied you could still see vestiges of the ramp. It wasn't a future line, it was merely a ramp in a hole in the ground!
