I remember catching a four car D train at about 4:00 in the morning back in 1972 or 1973, going from The Bronx to Brighton Beach with my girlfriend. The T/O was pulling up to the front of every station, so people standing in the rear half of the station had to run like hell to get to the rear car.....which is what happened to us when we boarded at 183rd Street.
