- The Mets became first team in baseball history to blow a lead of seven or more games with only 17 games to play. (CHOKED!!!!)

The Yankees are the only team in professional sports to lose a postseason 7 game series after having won the first three games. That's the greatest collapse in sporting history and will remain so because no one could possibly do any worse (nobody plays 9 game playoff series, so no opportunity to choke even worse by winning the first four and losing the next five).

The 1964 Phillies had a 6.5 game lead with only 12 games left to play, and they choked that away. What the Mets did in 2007 doesn't even rank as #2 ...
