The Transit Adjudication Board (TAB) has been set up like this for DECADES. It's absurd to be ticketed for offenses like putting your foot on a subway seat or walking from one subway car to another, with the fines set at $50 to $75.If you lose at TAB (and you almost certainly will!), and you can't cough up the dough, off to Rikers you'll go, which costs the city many times the value of the fine they were trying to collect. It's absurd. |
