Bill:From what I have read, the original intention was to have 179 be a terminal for some trains (hence the layup tracks) while others continued beyond 179, which is why the tracks apparently went to 184th on the upper level with the full intention of them continuing. We are not talking about that big of an extension here, but one that could be very important long term as Queens continues to expand. Beyond that, however, I do agree it would difficult to justify unless you can come up with a ton of federal funding. |
