Of course the tracks the A train uses to get to Far Rockaway did at one time extend into the Five Towns and beyond (when the LIRR owned them) but that was before 1955. After that the tracks were severed at Far Rockaway and a new LIRR station was opened east of where the old one was. The old LIRR station property was sold and a shopping center built on the site. |
