As for lines, I'd rather use "IRT", "BMT", or "IND". Quick, and to the point. Best thing is that casual riders don't know what the hell you're talking about. :) But even I don't know what the hell you're talking about if you "take the IRT to 125th Street" - that involves three different possibilities - are you taking the 1'n'9, the 2/3, or the Lex? And once you get into the Bronx, it's the 1'n'9, the 2/<5>, the 5 (Dyre), the 4 (Woodlawn) and the 6 (Pelham). Now, if you tell someone you're taking the Sea Beach, the Culver or the Brighton Local down to Kings Highway, we all know what you're talking about, but the sheeple are perplexed :) |
