10-car V to Canarsie? |

Posted by gbs on Sun Oct 5 01:57:03 2008 An R160 layup on the center track of the Astoria line tonight had side signs showing:V 53 St/ 6 Av LCL V Canarsie LCL V Canarsie Since the layups in Astoria are the 10-car R160's, why would this be programmed into them, since 10 car trains can't go to Canarsie? And certainly they wouldn't use only one 5-car set. I can understand programming this into the 8-car R160's, since the Chrystie cut could one day be used again, and a 6th Avenue train could go to Canarsie via Broadway-Brooklyn. Aren't the sign programs suited for the proper car types? |
