Didn't Congress also force Amtrak's hand by effectively mandating that Amtrak operate all trains out of NYP for New York?As far as that, I can't say. But Amtrak would have preferred not having to pay the MTA money for running out of GCT anyhow. There was a temporary switch back for a while, I think, when the Spuyten Duyvil (bridge) was put out by an errant vessel That happened twice, that I recall. |
