The R-44s and 46s as delivered had an emergency switch coupled with an alarm to allow for emergency passage between cars. Problems arose when students enroute to and from their institutions ofhigher(?) education used them to go from car to car just for the fun of it. These switches even though they remained in place were sealed up under unbreakable metal covers and so the emergency feature was lost. |
