Are you not at all familiar with the services available for the homeless downtown? I already said that the reason that the homeless are there is because that's where the services are and you respond that there are no services.You should walk around downtown especially east of Main. That's where all of the services are. They're everywhere around there. You've probably heard about the people that have been getting dumped by hospitals in downtown. There's also many that have mental issues. These people DESERVE help. Not to wander around the subway without getting the help that they need. Take a look at these blogs to get an idea. Central City East Used to be homeless and now lives in subsidized housing. scribeskidrow Recovering drug addict that lives in subsidized housing. Also see, Union Rescue Mission The largest private rescue mission in the US. Almost 700 beds and a hundred or so efficiency apartments. Beyond shelter Fred Jordan Mission Here's a directory to others I hope that if I am ever homeless and need help that people won't let me wander around public transit and pretend that they are helping me. We need to get rid of the drug dealers and the people that are there to prey on other homeless people so that we can get help to the people that need it. |
