No one is saying cut R service to Brooklyn, if anything the extra R trains are basically extra trains to fill in for the gaps left by the G when it doesn't run on Queens Blvd on weekends. So you can think of these R trains as seperate from the regular R trains that runs from Queens to Brooklyn. That is it. Brooklyn could use an extra set or so, but Queens needs the additional service to fill in for the loss of the G that is why there's a need for special short turn R trains. |
