If they ran this other SAS train (looks like U won't fly) at 10tph on the local tracks, the service would be sufficiently differentiated from other QB routes (1 seat ride to the East Side) to draw passengers from other routes.

I see two obstacles to getting this to happen.

The first is that the MTA has yet to commit to such a route.

The second is where the line terminates. 179th could work, but getting one line past 71st, with two lines still terminating there, might be tricky. This is where a new three track, two island platform local terminal, on the NE corner of Jamaica Yard, that uses that yard's loop, could have high utility.
