If the field trip didn't work out today, you come back some other time. As I said, this would require several hours of additional work. If you'd be happy to spend several hours doing something completely unnecessary on the grounds that it's not directly related to your job, then that's fine with me, but don't assume that everyone would be happy to drop something they're doing, travel away, and spend several hours trying to return and finish on a Saturday for the weakest of reasons, whether they were being compensated for the work with money, personal enjoyment, both, or something else entirely. |
