I fail to understand your second paragraph. If your ASSumption is correct with the hard rail connection, explain to me why the G can stop at Fourth Ave, and not the F? Wouldn't they already be on the same track? Plus you CAN have local service between 7th Ave. and Church Ave.: 2 exclusive use shuttle trains running in both directions on the same track under absolute block rules which simply means one train is allowed within a specified section of trackage. The trains can run in service in the normal direction of traffic and run lite in the wrong rail direction so as to not confuse the geese. Stuff isn't mentioned in newspapers because they do not understand transit issues as well as transit professionals and some of us involved in the hobby.
