Metro North took over in 1983, and believe it or not, was in worse shape than anyone can imagine today. Ahhh, the "keep it running" days. There's a picture of the Poughkeepsie station on nycsubway.org from 1979. It was a disaster. Most of the concrete platforms were patched with asphault. |
