With all this talk about the mall and its general area; I forgot the announcement (from April, already) that J C Penney would be moving into the Mall!http://www.theshophound.typepad.com//the_shophound/2007/04/jc_penney_confi.html I had thought "oh, good, they're probably going to take the space on top that was converted to offices for a nonn-retail firm, and reexpand the Mall", but this article says JC Penney will take the bottom three floors (from the street, down)! So All those tenants will have to be relocated! It would be nice if the offices moved out, and they did use that space for retail again! But now with JCPenney taking the lower floors, they will have complete (sole) use of the service and utility area leading to the passageway! Perhaps they might want to reopen it, so they can be connected to Penn Sta.! |
