Not exactly. Conrail used the line as a secondary until the late 80s; and NJT used to use it to shuttle Comet IIs to/from the Elizabethport shops. (Of course, the yards down at Elizabethport are still very much active, as is the new intermodal yard just south of Jersey Gardens Mall.)

The CNJ as a railroad was gone forever by 1976, though; that's when Conjob Gonorrhail Gonerail Conrail gobbled 'em up.

These here linked photos are from the early 80s (not sure, but it might be 81).
