I'm pretty sure it was CNJ that I used to take to get down to Fort Monmouth ... Red Bank, Asbury Park, that area ... no?That's the New York & Long Branch. Shared by CNJ and PRR back in the day. CNJ's segment ran through Elizabethport, Bayway, Carteret, Sewaren before Perth Amboy. After 1967, the CNJ ran out of Newark Penn, so if you remember taking the PATH there, you're memory's right on track. If those photos of the CNJ main line from the 80s look bad, look at the pic from the '00s in the first post of this thread. |
