The Verazano, Whitestone, Triborough, and Throgs Neck were more practical as Bridges. The three tunnels probably were too, as that's why they were built of course. I don't know if the George Washington, as I know less about it, but I can't imagine what would be wrong with it over a tunnel. Bridges are expensive, but so are tunnels. |
