The 13 has been an orphan long enough, it needs those switches and track. Ed Springer says there are problems at 9th and Main,for a switch to be added there.As far as that CSX crossing goes, it's a disaster. Trolley Driver Bill told me when they welded all the tracks together last time, they parked a CSX train on the crossing to bring the rails down to meet SEPTA's tracks , and then they welded. When the CSX train left, the whole thing rose up, now it's sunken down. Sounds like they need a good understructure at that location. as a former mechanical/draftsman/designer , I'm appalled. I say fix it right , and maybe send the 13 back through the woods like the old 62 route. Some track and wire will be needed there, of course. Chuck Greene |
