In other contexts, it definitely irritates me when people say things are impossible just because they are politically very difficult. The best example is Metro North access to Penn after ESA is done. Yes, it's politically very tricky. But as the west side gets more developed an increasing number of NY constituents really want it, which may be enough of an impetus for the MTA to make it happen.It also has slight physical problems (e.g. that rubbish bridge at Spuyten Duyvil). |
