Shopping trips to Jamaica were traditional in my family, but by 1983 we switched over to going to malls (Queens Center or Green Acres). By the time I began traversing the neoghborhood in high school in 1986 (I went to Edison for one year), it was DEAD. Crack was not kind to this area. |
