No doubt service would be much better now. I like the Winfield Spur - such a serpentine route - but I would have built it as a subway rather than an elevated line.With regard to extensions into southern Brooklyn - isn't there a problem with the water table that would preclude the southernmost ends of these proposed routes from being underground? I just LOVE boxgirder elevated structures - it's about time we built a whole new one (rather than just pieces of an existing one as was one on the Canarsie line between Atlantic and Sutter). wayne |
