When I moved up front, we had a lot of short timers on board and I've had conductors open up while stopped before the car marker at an ST that failed to drop for me with 2-3 cars out, I've had wrong platform opens happen to. Spit does happen. Fortunately, this event as described wasn't one that put anyone in harm's way as could and occasionally does happen.As others who've done it for a while will tell you - sometimes folks can zone themselves out. It's a very BORING job seeing the same "sights" day after day and God BLESS those who can do it, and do it properly EVERY time ... and show up for work the next day to do it all again. |
