I also attended Christ the King - from 1962 to 1966. Back then the Myrtle Ave. line had Standards and Q-cars. And the Bay Ridge line was electified with overhead catenary. Boy, am I getting old!

Actually, for freshman year 1962/63 we had to attend Mater Christi HS in Astoria since the CK building had not yet been completed. I remember counting the number of cars on the freigtht trains heading to/from the Hell Gate Bridge on the NYCRR. Many of them had over 100 cars. (for that matter many of the freight trains on the Bay Ridge also had > 100 cars back then - and you could find an occasional freight car on the Evergreen branch)

Also, Mafera Park was called "old Farmers Oval" back then ("New" Farmers oval was where Christ the King was built)
