Eight tph is *certainly* too much service to that loop, if operated as it stands. If Wimbledon-Sutton were 'Tramlinked' too, of course that would be a different matter! The formerly even more moribund Wimbledon-Croydon line is now successfully 8 tph offpeak route as a Tramlink line. Realistically, though, the only proposal for Tramlink extension/conversion currently being worked on is Crystal Palace-Birkbeck. Sutton-Wimbledon-Tooting is in abeyance since 2004. |
