No white people rode a 2 or 3 train above 96th St. You really stood out if you remained on. Ditto for the 4 & 5 north of 125th. The 1 & 6 lines had significant caucasian patronage at the north end of each line, so I rode those a lot. The Livonia Ave el? Forget about it. The only white people riding those trains were cops. |
