My list was short only because I was making it off the top of my head. I suspect that you'd find an apartment building / complex within walking distance (say 1/2 mile) of every Nassau County LIRR station with the exception of Westwood, Lakeview, Hemsptead Gardens, Country Life Press, Nassau Blvd, Stewart Manor, Carle Place, Cold Spring Harbor, Plandome and many of the Oyster Bay branch stations. If you want to cut the distance down to just a block or two, you could probably scratch Bellerose, Island Park and maybe some others off the list. Again, this is just off memory alone.Garden City has two very large complexes just north of the Garden City Hotel (actually, it may just be one complex with two large buildings). In addition, I recall more residential buildings along Stewart Ave and Seventh Street. I thought Valley Stream had more multi-family units along both Roosevelt Avenue and Rockaway Avenue. But perhaps you're more familiar with the details there. |
