Glenmont loses its charm |

Posted by SchuminWeb on Sun Mar 19 21:48:44 2006 Sad to say, Glenmont on WMATA's Red Line is losing the thing that gives it such charm - the sodium lamps in the pylons, which impart that reddish glow that makes Glenmont so special, are being replaced with the standard mercury-vapor lights found in the rest of the system. Take a look: January 4, 2006  March 15, 2006 I don't know the exact date that they began the changeover, but it was some time between these two dates. I think it's a shame - the red lights gave Glenmont some charm. Ben F. Schumin :-) |
