Effective on April 18, 1965 No 5 EXPRESS trains would serve the Dyre Avenue Line. No. 5 THRU-EXPRESSES would continue to operate to East 241st Street during rush hours. This meant that passengers at station between Burke Avenue and Bronx Park East would lose direct service to the Lexington Avenue Line.

Effective on May 3, 1965 thru expresses would run local north of East 180th Street.
