A couple of facts to keep in mind. NY City Subway Cars are preset to supply air conditioning when a car interior goes above 71 degrees F. Every subway car has 18 tons of AC or 216,000 BTU. That's 2,180,000 BTU per train X more than 250 trains. Thats alot of heat being constantly pumped back into the tunnels.The tunnel ambient Temp. easily exceeds 110 degrees in the summer. When you consider the volume of tunnel air and that hochul and mamdummy being involved, what could go wrong? |
