Since the R12s in 1948, the rectangular side door windows on the IRT SMEE cars were high up on the door panels, and didn't line up with the car's side windows. This didn't change until 1963 and the R33 World's Fair car, on which the door windows were lowered to line up with the new picture windows. After the Redbird GO, occasionally a door panel with the high window was installed on a World's Fair car, next to a door panel with the correct window. The difference was obvious.
