On or about this date a free passageway is opened between the 23rd Street-Ely Avenue station (E, F, now E and M) of the IND Queens Line and the Court Square station (G) of the IND Crosstown Line. This was made possible by the construction of the Citicorp tower above the station complex. Citicorp received some construction variances in return for their paying for the new transfer facilities. Midway down the new passageway was an entrance to the subway directly from the lower level of the Citicorp tower:  After entering, turn left for the G or right for the E,F,M,V. |
