Here is a scenario.R, northbound, entering Queens Plaza during PM rush. Entering Queens Plaza it's doing about 5 mph. When it gets to the middle of the station, around the conductors board, it's barely doing 5 mph and an E enters the station at normal speed on the express track. The E makes a stop, people get on and off, doors close and the E leaves while the R is still crawling into the station before finally making a normal station stop. And the passengers on the R are furious. They are at the doors seeing an express and realize what just happened because the R is crawling barely at 5 mph. Then the R sits at least 5 minutes, I guess to let an M cross in front. The R is a terrible line during the week and on weekends. No matter what service changes are made the R will always be frustrating for customers. Its called CBTC speed enforcement so cowboys wont fly into the Plaza once that last timer clears on D2 track like they used to in the past... Job has done a 180 since you was here..
