At about 7:42 in the classic 1949 Rapid Transit documentary, you see Euclid Ave station with fluorescent lighting. A harbinger of the end of incandescent lighting.Anyone know the name of the Board of Transportation chairman showing the future to Mayor William O'Dwyer, who nervously chews the frame of his glasses as he contemplates the replacement of incandescent lighting. |
