Back then as a kid I didn't realize these cars were mostly the same as the earlier version R26 and R28 and the 27/30s but smaller, just with nicer paint and picture windows. When they repainted them as redbirds the fantasy was shattered. They really were the same.I rode them to the Worlds Fair a few times, but mostly took them out to Shea to see the Mets, but took them once out to Shea to see The Beatles! |
