You speak in railroad and the rest of us who are not familiar with railroad geography speak in real world compass directives. It was like that with the old NYCRR/Conrail directions. Everything was either eastbound or westbound. For example, a train to Selkirk from NYC would be considered westbound even though it was geographically northbound & vice/versa. That was fairly simple, but with the NYC subways, its more complex than that.I know of many rail/train buffs who refer to transit directions in their geographic reality. Not knowing railroad north from south in the subway system doesn't automatically disqualify one from being a transit buff. |
