The master controller was very similar to the one on the R-44s and 46s. However it did not have the speeds indicated in the top if the control console. Instead it had push buttons that reminded me of the push buttons on an old fashioned jukebox. Each button was marked for a specific speed and when the M/M selected the desired speed he could move the controller all the way to full multiple and the train would not exceed that speed. If the train were at high speed and the M/M pressed a button for a lower speed, the train would immediately slow to that speed. |
